How involved will I be in the design process?

Our team will kick things off with a curated set of product suggestions based on your onboarding call and what we know performs best across our partners. From there, we collaborate with you to refine and finalize the designs until they feel just right for your organization and brand.

Do I get to review a sample before going live?

Yes! We’ll send you a sample of each product at cost before your storefront goes live, so you can review quality, design, and details with confidence.

Step 2: Add eCommerce to Your Website 📣

What do I need to do to launch my storefront?

Nothing! We handle everything for you. During onboarding, we’ll send a secure link to collect your site credentials. From there, we design, build, and configure your storefront. All you need to do is review and approve before we go live.

What if I already sell products online?

No problem at all. Whether you already have an online store or are new to eCommerce, we seamlessly integrate our storefront into your existing site. Everything is designed to match your brand’s look and feel, so it feels completely native to your customers.

How can I get the word out about my storefront?

We provide your team with email and social media assets to share with your community of supporters, making it easy to promote your storefront as you celebrate your unique cause.

Step 3: We Handle Everything 🚚

If it's hands-off, how will I track my sales and performance?

It’s your storefront—we just make it effortless. You’ll stay fully informed on every order, while we handle the messy stuff like printing, fulfillment, shipping, and customer service behind the scenes. Plus, you’ll receive transparent monthly sales reports so you always know exactly how your products are performing.

Step 4: Receive Your Funds 💰

How are earnings calculated?

You receive all proceeds after the cost of goods sold and our commission. There are no hidden fees—just clear, straightforward revenue sharing.

How do payouts work?

At the end of each month, the funds earned by your business or organization are transferred to the bank account of your choice. During onboarding, our team will provide a simple link to set up your transfer.

My organization is a non-profit (501c3) with tax exemption status. How is sales tax handled for nonprofit storefronts?

Selling Goods With Us (Collecting Tax)

Right now, due to website limitations, Local Fabric is the seller of record for all sales made on our platform. That means we’re responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax on all products sold to supporters — even if you’re a tax-exempt nonprofit.

To compensate for this, we will net out the sales tax when we make payments to your organization, so that your nonprofit is not disadvantaged by these collections.

We know this isn’t ideal, and we’re actively working on a solution that will allow each nonprofit on our platform to become a unique seller of record. Once that’s in place, your supporters will be able to purchase tax-free. Stay tuned for updates!

Buying Product From Us (Paying Tax)

If your organization prefers to purchase products in bulk directly from us and then sell them to supporters on your own, your nonprofit status applies. In this case, your purchases are tax-exempt. To set this up, simply complete our Wholesale Partner Form, which unlocks tax-free purchasing for 501c3 organizations.

My organization is a non-profit (501C3) with tax exemption status. Are purchases from my storefront tax-deductible?

Because Local Fabric the seller of record, all supporter purchases are treated as purchases of goods, not donations. This means that supporters cannot claim their purchase as a tax-deductible charitable contribution, and we cannot issue donation receipts or letters for tax write-offs.

Supporters can feel great knowing that 50% of every sale goes directly to your organization to support your mission. In addition, if your organization would like to offer a direct donation option alongside the fundraiser, we will help you to set up a button on your fundraiser page so supporters who want a tax-deductible contribution have a clear way to do so.
